The Northeast HamXposition boasts a cadre of dedicated volunteers who make this convention possible. But we can still use more volunteers.  Your smiling faces and eagerness to help makes a difference to the attendees. From selling tickets, assisting presenters, supervising the flea market, setting up the rooms, handling parking signage, supervising the flea market, and taking it all down and packing it up for next year— you make it happen!

Do you have a friend or family member who wants to earn their Technician license? Bring them to the Northeast HamXposition “Tech-In-A-Day review! It’s a supervised study course that allows you to become licensed by the Federal Communications Commission as an Amateur Radio Operator.

Candidates should purchase the ARRL Technician Class License Manual in advance at Ham Radio Outlet or any other amateur radio on-line store.

Join Shawn Warren, KC1NQE, and the Connecticut POTA (Parks On The Air) Activators Group at the 2024 Northeast HamXposition as they bring activators together to share knowledge about our parks, setups, and overall knowledge of POTA. Learn how to organize similar multi-club events and activities to engage all license classes!

The Northeast Hamxposition is pleased to announce the return of the Nashua Area Radio Society‘s (NARS) “Amateur Radio Exposition.”

The exposition will include many hands-on activities, videos, and displays about amateur radio and wireless communications, including:

• Software Defined Radios
• High-Altitude Balloons
• Portable and Mobile stations
• Emergency Communications
• Satellite and Space Communications
• Fox-hunting

All exhibits are curated by experienced Nashua ARS club members.

This year, attendees will be able to observe an actual high frequency net operating on the air. The Net Control Station (NCS) at the exhibit will control the net from a remote setup using N1FD. 

Also new, NARS will host a dedicated computer linked to the new ARRL “Radiogram Gateway.” Attendees will be able to enter messages through the gateway that will be picked up by traffic handlers and sent as radiograms.

You won’t want to miss this comprehensive display highlighting the various facets of our hobby-service!

Join Jay Taft, K1EHZ, as he presents “Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network – A Tool in the EmComm Messaging Toolbox” at the 2024 Northeast HamXposition. AREDN is one tool in the EmComm tool box. The AREDN microwave system complements other tools by supporting IP-based messaging and various common applications that run over the Internet.

The Northeast HamXposition is privileged to feature Matt and Danielle Noyes from 1Degree Outside. They will be presenting about their new venture and the vital role Amateur Radio and non-Amateur Radio SKYWARN Spotters play with surface reporting during severe weather events.

Immediately following their presentation, we’ll offer “Advanced Topics in SKYWARN” combining Doppler Radar Fundamentals and understanding with how to gather critical surface and damage reporting.

We are excited once again to have organizations from around New England bringing their EmComm trailers and vans to the 2024 HamXposition to put on display and give tours. We have a number of groups that have agreed to participate, some from a fair distance. Convention attendees will have the opportunity to tour the trailers and bring home ideas for their own trailer build outs!

Amateurs that have registered with the Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS) train on US and Allied radio communications procedures and work with the Department of Defense customers to deliver accurate and timely situational awareness.
