“This presentation benefits ARES members and any ham who wants to improve their communication precision, efficiency, and delivery of time-critical messages. Drawing on over 30 years of consulting experience with public safety agencies, I will cover tactical communications and make them relevant to ham radio in a practical, real-world way.”
With over 40 years of experience as a licensed amateur radio operator, I have served as Net Control for hundreds of HAM and ARES events, including planned ARES Public Service Events,Communications emergencies, the annual Simulated Emergency Tests, and the Boston Marathon as a Ham and with public safety agencies. In addition to my volunteer work, I consult on communication pre-planning for the Boston Marathon, and have worked directly with government agencies as a Communications Specialist, Group Leader, Communication Supervisor, and currently as a radio communications consultant. Complementing my technical background, I am was a call firefighter and I am a retired police officer with 25 years of experience training urban law enforcement and public safety agencies. I also hold degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Marketing, allowing me to bring both technical expertise and strategic planning to public safety communications.
