Scott began working for Scanner Master in April of 2023. Prior to that he was the communications supervisor for a Cape Cod police department for close to 34 years. Scott is also the founder of the Scan New England website and remains there in an active administrator capacity to this day. He has been an avid monitoring enthusiast since a lady that took care of him as a child shoved an old shortwave radio into his hands to keep him occupied. It was at the tender age of 7 when that moment occurred and he has not looked back since. He has been incredibly fortunate to combine a lifelong hobby into a career, starting as a Radioman in the US Coast Guard, installing C-Band satellite systems after his honorable discharge in 1985, and then the aforementioned police employment, starting as a dispatcher in 1988 and remaining one in addition to becoming the supervisor in 1996 up to his retirement in July of 2022. Scott enjoys a wide scope of the radio hobby to include searching for new frequencies and radio systems, DX’ing low band and tropospheric ducting band openings, listening to local public safety activity, and amateur radio (callsign KC1UA, licensed since 1990). He also enjoys traveling with his wife Linda, hiking, gardening, computing, billiards, and his sports teams to include the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins.
